Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble Empty Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble

Post by Jun on Fri Jul 12, 2019 11:02 am

In a town to the northeast corner of Mondolin, several townspeople sat at the local tavern/inn, both celebrating and anxiously awaiting news from some watchers that were posted. Mostly to see any Mondolin soldiers or knights to come and assist them with a big problem. One that they didn't realize was so big until it was too late. A fourteen year old girl was at the center of it all, just rescued from slavers. By a sleeping beauty of a boy in a room upstairs.

The doctor and his two assistants were still in disbelief at their luck of running into the duo, as they also went to the neighboring two towns that were also having the same issue of slavers. The man was heavily injured, and they went through several dozen needles just to sew him shut. But he was alive for the moment. And every so often, one of them would go check on him. But from what the girl said, the man was a fighter, and a damn good one. He'd injured their best as well. But their best also injured him. Right now, Kronos was resting.

The village elder, an old man with a grey goatee and cane, was sitting at the bar. His son next to him, both silent. No one knew this stranger. His weapons were foreign, though high quality, their blacksmith confirmed. Soon, one of their few teenagers left in the village barged in, relaying news that they see Mondolin colors.

Shortly after, they escorted the soldiers in so that they can speak of the issues they and others were having...

(ooc note: feel free to hijack any of the npcs here!)

Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble Empty Re: Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble

Post by Zenke on Sat Jul 13, 2019 6:32 am

On the way to sunshield hold, Lilian had gone to Karem first, then Zadartis, a route that took her around the entire mountain range south of mith silvanus. On the way home, she'd intended to stop in Zendar before crossing the mountains, however she didn't have time and decided to visit Mith Verdanus and see her aunt and uncle before returning home. However almost as soon as she entered the city she decided to check in at the fort and recieved a request for aid. Apparently Slavers had made several attacks on a small village in the north east of mandolin, and soldiers had been dispatched from Mith Verdanus to deal with it. The local commander had asked her to go and see to the operation, and she'd agreed.

She sent word to the knights in Mith Silvanus requesting back up from atleast another knight just in case things got particularly hairy, and set out the same day. Lilian made excellent headway, and a day later she arrived at the small village, not long after the soldiers who were lead by sergeant Gallan. Most of the soldiers lingered outside the tavern talking quietly, there was twelve in all outside. She guessed the rest of the squad would be in the Inn. When she entered the inn all eyes turned to her, and she recieved a few confused looks. She spotted Segeant Gallan speaking to an elderly man, and guessed he was the village elder or possibly a doctor. When Gallan noticed her, he took note of crest on her leather armor and approached. "Ah, miss...?" He asked unsure. "Knight Lilian Toral." She Said. And heard a few gasps of awe. A soldier muttered about how she was so young, but Gallan silenced him with a glower. "Sergeant Gallan I assume. I've been sent to help deal with the slavers." She said and he nodded. "And take command I assume?" He asked.

Lilian shrugged. "I do outrank you. But I'd prefer if you were willing to work with me rather than be forced to cooperate due to chain of command." Lilian explained. "And don't be fooled. I'm young, but I earned my Knighthood." She added, looking the other soldiers in the face. Gallan nodded. "Where do we start then?" He asked. "Get me up to speed. And if you haven't already, set a watch on the village perimeter." She ordered. Gallan nodded, looked to his two men in the tavern. "Set up four watch points, two men to each watch. Tell the others to set up camp in the village square." He said.

The two men nodded and headed out to give the orders. "Come on this way, I'll explain things on the way." He said, and started towards the stairs in the back. "A couple days ago a travelling doctor stumbled upon a half dead Asentari and a young human girl." He explained. Lilian frowned at the mention of an asentari, but otherwise didn't let her emotions show. "The Asentari had apparently saved the girl from slavers, and was injured in the fight. The slavers have been attacking some of the more vulnerable villages near the border, but after the doctor found these two, the village her sent out some scouts. The slavers have been seen camping near the border not far from the village. They're preparing to attack, probably seeking vengence on the asentari." He explained. "If this has been going on for a while why haven't we done anything before now?" She asked. "We've had small groups of scouts in the area for a while keeping an eye on the situation. The local town Militia was enough to deter them for the most part, and they've only snatched one or two people before now. But this is a much larger scale. What ever the Asentari did riled them up." He told her as they reached a door.

"One squad wont be enough to defeat the slavers. I think we should call on Erilin town's Militia." He said, more quietly. Lilian shook her head.
"We risk leaving the town exposed. Dont forget how close we are to Kyrias. Besides I sent for reinforcements before I left Mith Verdanus. Another knight should be on their way, possibly with another squad of soldiers." Then she smiled reassuringly. "In the meantime, We'll be enough. We have to be." Gallan nodded, some of the lines in his face receeding. "I trust your judgement, Ser Toral." He said. "Lilian is fine. Now, I'm guessing we're here to talk to the asentari and the girl." She said. He nodded, and opened the door, letting Lilian enter first.

She spotted he asentari in the bed first, but showed no visible reaction. She wasn't fond of Asentari in general, but that didn't change the fact that he'd gone out of his way to save the girl who was perched on a chair near the window, watching them warily. Lilian gave the girl a reasuring smile. "Hello there. I'm Lilian. What's your name?" She asked moving into the room. "I'm a knight of Mondolin. Can you tell me what happened? Do you know who these slavers are? Where did they take you from?" She glanced at the Asentari, wondering if he was going to wake up anytime soon. "What about your friend here, did he tell you who he was?" She asked the girl calmly. She gave her another gentle smile.

Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble Empty Re: Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble

The fourteen year old nodded, relaxing a little. "I'm Alice. My family owns a farm just outside of town. They came after us, knocked out my parents. Both me and my brother were taken...Eugeo is still at their base. They liked to torment us a little bit. I was out of the cage, the slavers poking and prodding me. I don't know who they are or anything. I know my parents are downstairs...but they're grateful for him. He never said a name...I think he was focused on surviving the wound too much to say anything. Anyways, next thing I know, I heard some yells...and there he was, with a bloody sword and a look of pure disgust and hatred of them. He took them down like they were nothing. They did have a stronger guy there, next to their leader...he went after him. The two fought for a little bit before Red got a small graze on the stronger guy...but he got severely hurt. He seemed a little shocked that he got cut. Red spun around and slashed the guy's back and part of his leg before he snatched me up. Next thing I knew there was a loud bang and a blinding flash, I couldn't see and I was so confused. Then we fell into a lake. Thankfully, Doctor Gil and Mira and Laura were travelling back here. They patched him up. He was breathing awfully hard earlier, but he looks a lot more peaceful now...I know we were once at war with them, but I think this one is a good one. Why else would he save me?"

A snort from the bed happened, but the blazing red head's eyes remained closed. "If you let me rest a bit more and let me have that guy that injured me, I'd be more than happy to show you where their base was and all. Before I go back to sleep, I'm not gonna have any issues with you, am I? You'll be hard pressed to find any Asentari who likes slavers, so I would hope we would be on the same side. But the enemy of my enemy is not always my friend." The locals had kept his sword and shield nearby, on an end table within easy reach. Still, Kronos made no move towards it. His voice was harsh, almost mean even. But he awaited an answer before going back to sleep.

Lilian listened to the girl. As she listened, her face darkened with anger. Who knows what they'd have done to the poor girl if the asentari hadn't showed up. She gave her a soft smile. "I promise you, I will save your brother. And anyone else they're holding in that camp." She said to the girl. She vouched for the asentari, and Lilian had to agree. Then he spoke, questioning wether he would have issues with her. She frowned. She hadn't made her feelings clear about asentari, infact she was approaching the situation as diplomatically as possible so it was strange he would asked that. Perhaps he just had a mistrust of the Mondolin Military in general, or assumed Asentari weren't welcome here.

Lilian looked the Asentari up and down. "Only if you step out of bounds." She said firmly. "But I'm going to trust that you mean no ill will since you went out of your way to save Alice." She stepped towards the door. "When your feeling up to it, I'll be downstairs. I have questions, but for now just tell me your name." She said. When he answered, assuming he answered, she nodded and closed the door. Gallan looked thoughtful. "He should be useful. Asentari are powerful." Lilian shrugged. "As long as he doesn't cause trouble." She said as they walked towards the stairs.

"You seem unsure.." Gallan started. He paused again, then straighened. "I just realised, you're Clara Toral's daughter... Oh..." Before he could continue she interupted him. "Lets not talk about that, please." Lilian said. "Yes Ma'am. So, what do we do now?" Lilian looked thoughtful, then nodded. "I need something to eat. Back up will be about a day behind, which will give our asentari friend time to recover. In the meantime you should go and see your men. We can only wait and hope there's no attacks." She said. Gallan nodded in agreement. "Understood." He saluted her and left the inn. Lilian sighed and settled in, ordered some food and waited.

Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble Empty Re: Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble

Post by Orgoth on Sat Jul 13, 2019 11:06 am

It was business as usual today. Another day brought another requisition from the military. There was a clinking of metal as a brown-haired man in blacksmith overalls marched through a hallway, deep in the bowels of the Silver Citadel. The man was being accompanied by two squires he had wrangled at the main gate to help him, and they each carried an armful of weapons. The older man, Andreas Toral, chuckled heartily at the struggles of his enlisted help. "Come on now. Almost there, chaps."

The trio reached their destination and their leader brought them inside. "There we go now. Young, fit lads like you could probably do this in your sleep." The squires entered the room and left the weapons on a table inside. The walls of the room were full of weapon racks, to which Andreas gestured. "Now, just set them up in the racks. Knight-Commander Kaverra doesn't like an empty armory." The squires groaned audibly, sweat dripping down their brows as they began to mount the weapons on their racks. Andreas Toral chuckled with amusement and left them to it.

Back in the main entrance chamber of the Citadel, Andreas headed towards the large doors that led outside into the beaming sunlight of day. He grinned as he thought he might actually get to enjoy a bit of daylight this time. He might try out his new wrist-mounted dart launcher that he had been working on, see if he could work out some more kinks. He was broken from his thoughts by the mention of his last name. He stopped and looked towards the source of the chat, and saw a messenger talking to Knight-Commander Kaverra. Andreas approached with curiosity.

"Excuse the interruption, Knight-Commander. I couldn't help but overhear my name being mentioned. Anything I can help with?" Andreas grinned mischievously. "Or is this about my pay rise?" Kaverra looked a little taken back at first, but then an exasperated smile broke out over her normally stern features. "Actually, it was your daughter's name that came up." Andreas' grin melted into a sincere smile. "Is she getting a pay rise? I don't really mind, of course. It's just that, her getting paid more than me will upset the family dynamic, you know?" Kaverra's expression returned to its usual seriousness, and Andreas knew something was up.

"Not exactly. Lilian sent this messenger here, requesting support." Andreas's smile faded and his tone changed to one of parental concern. "Support? Where is she? Is she alright?" Kaverra looked to the messenger, who explained the situation to Andreas. Kaverra thanked the messenger and dismissed him. Andreas stroked his chin in thought. "I see. What was your plan?" Kaverra looked towards the back of the hall. "I will send Knight-Lieutenant Karius to assist. He is familiar with the area and a capable Knight." Andreas suddenly looked at Kaverra with sincerity. "Commander, if I may. I request permission to go instead. I also know the area, and I know my daughter. I've also been itching for some more fieldwork for a while, and my father and my son can run the shop and fill the requisitions while I'm gone." Kaverra thought for a moment, but nodded in agreement. "Hmm. Very well. The assignment is yours. Safe travels, Lieutenant." Andreas bowed respectfully. "Thank you, Commander."

The journey was thankfully uneventful, so Andreas made reasonably good time to his destination. When he arrived, he found the village under guard. He identified himself to one of the guards, though it took Andreas producing his writ of Knighthood for the guard to believe him. Andreas looked at the guard in understanding. "It's the overalls, huh? I get it." He made his way to the inn, and entered, finding Lilian sitting at a table. "Hey, kiddo. Heard you needed a hand." He walked over and ruffled his daughter's hair in his own annoying way. "So, what's the situation here? What can I do to help?"

Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble Empty Re: Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble

Post by Jun on Sat Jul 13, 2019 1:47 pm

"Considering your nation's history with my people, surely you can't blame me for asking. You're right though, I don't have ill intentions towards the people here. Hell, they treated me...I owe them. And I pay off my debts. My name is Kronos Lohengrin." With a yawn and small head turn, he was out like a light.

"Exotic name..." Alice mumbled as she admired the guy.

A day later, in the evening, he was finally allowed to at least go up and down stairs. Still, the nurses had fawned over how well he took instructions and followed their orders. What no one expected was to see him walk down with a sack of coins. Even the doctor and nurses were surprised since they didn't see it on him. Five gold coins for the medical personal. A gold coin for the guy that loaned him clothes. And a gold coin for the room and food. He simply waved their objections away and sat at the table with the lady and an older gentleman with overalls on. But the guy was a new arrival it seemed. It was still obvious that Kronos wasn't in full, tip top shape, but well enough to at least be moving. If slowly, and even panting when he was done.

Kronos still kept his distance though...you could fit another person between him and the woman. "Four guards just in this room, plus those that are off duty. Two outside the door and maybe two by the horses? Main camp in the town square? Three to four watchpoints? Pretty standard set up if I'm right..." It was pure conjecture. But he knew his formations and defensive maneuvers.

He tilted his head back and opened his mouth, making like he was going to eat his wealth. That got a lot of attention. A rune soon appeared just outside of his mouth for people to see, and as soon as the sack of gold hit it, it all got absorbed into nothing. Once that was done, he stuck out his tongue with a bleh noise, letting everyone paying attention that it was forked. The barkeeper gave the guy an ale. Taking it, he gulped it.

"I could really do without tasting the damn thing...anyways, if you have a map, I'll show you exactly where they were and where I came in...unless you have some questions first? By the way, assuming you introduced yourself, I didn't catch it, I was only awake for about half of Alice's account." His slitted, bright amber eyes were intimidating. Even Alice, who was hanging off to the side of him seemed nervous. He'd wait for that first. Maybe get some offhand answers from the other stranger. Considering she was the only woman in military attire, Kronos assumed it was her that visited him.

Lilian had gone to bed for a few hours and returned to wait in the tavern and have some breakfast, when the tavern door opened, and an unexpected face greated her. "Daddy!" She said excitedly and lept up to greet her father with a hug as he tried to ruffle her hair, which she expertly dodged. "Why are you here?!" She asked as she let go and stepped back to look up at him. She listened to his explanation and nodded. "So they got my message. That's good, if they're aware of the situation they'll probably have people on standby to move out if we can't deal with this here and now." She said. She quickly filled her father in on the situation in the village and the slavers that were preparing to attack.

"We're just waiting on the asentari to wake up before we make any moves, but I've already talked over a few plans with Sergeant Gallan." She said. "Come order some breakfast while we wait I'm sure your hungry." She said and sat back down at the table. Not long after, the asentari appeared and joined them. He assessed the situation, though incorrectly. "There's only one guard in here, and he's more of a messenger. You're right about the camp and watchers. We only have one squad of fifteen soldiers though. But don't worry, we should be enough." She said. He asked about a map, and she looked over to the soldier by the door.

"Fetch Gallan and tell him to bring a map." She said. The man saluted and rushed out of the tavern. Since he hadn't caught her name she took introduced herself while they waited for Gallan to arrive. "Knight Lilian Toral. This is Knight-Lieutenant Andreas Toral." She added quickly before her father could say anything embarrassing. "We can get to questions in a moment. Tell us everything you remember about the camp." Gallan returned soon after, map in hand, and placed it down on the table. She looked at the asentari expectantly.

Andreas chuckled as his beloved daughter managed to bypass his attempt to ruffle her hair, and wrapped him in a hug. Was he becoming predictable? He'd have to solve that issue later. "You got me. Knight-Commander Kaverra has a unit nearby. Officially they're on training exercises, but they have eyes on the area as a precaution." He listened as Lilian briefed him on the current situation. He nodded approvingly. "Yeah, hopefully he can provide something useful." She also suggested food while he waited. "Good idea. I'll be back in a jiffy."

After he had eaten, Andreas sat chatting with Lilian until the Asentari joined them from his rest. The red-head immediately began by listing his estimation for their current defenses inn the inn and surrounding area, and was corrected by Lilian. "Nice guess though, kiddo." Lilian sent for a map, before introducing herself and her father. Andreas nodded, and Lilian continued quickly, as if worried e might say something embarrassing. He simply kept quiet, giving his daughter room to operate, all the while allowing a glint of pride show in his eyes.

Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble Empty Re: Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble

Post by Jun on Sun Jul 21, 2019 12:29 pm

So...he wasn't entirely accurate. He rubbed his eyes and yawned. "I am a quarter dead and still tired. Hey, Alice, don't suppose you can put in an order for me? Steak, extra well done, and three sides, I don't care which, I'm not picky. And a large pitcher of water please." The girl smiled sweetly and nodded enthusiastically before leaving to do that. He sighed heavily and shook his head. She was at least six years too early for him...she need to end this hero attachment.

At the name, Kronos rose an eyebrow. "Toral, huh? Now that's a conversation piece I won't touch with a ten foot pole..." A relative of some sort to that knight during the Contact War? Yeah, he valued his life, so he wouldn't mention it yet, and turned all business. He studied the map. Luckily, the doctor came up behind him and pointed where they were at, and where they picked up Kronos and Alice.

From there, the blazing red head traced back to the waterfall, just outside of Mondolin territory, and traced further back. Landing a finger on a hill/bluff side. "Their camp was split leveled, three ways. I came up from the north, to their small camp and watchtower there at the top. There was eight in there, now dead. Nice spot for a view and overlooking the rest of the camp, but poor for looking through the wooded area behind the camp. The main camp was in the middle section. I don't know what was in the bottom, but I would guess their slave carts and transportation. Since I didn't see any in that middle section. I killed twelve there before I was forced to retreat. Even after losing twenty, there was still at least fifty, fifty-five. Probably mid-eighties in terms of manpower, assuming not all of them are fighters. A few certainly didn't look it.

The leader I don't think is a fighter, but is a thinker, if a bit short tempered. I thought his head was gonna explode when I barged in and took Alice. Aside from the jackass that cut me, he had three others near him. A set of identical twins wearing a lot of dark clothes...clearly amateur assassin types, and an archer guy with a long bow, and at least two crossbows. The jackass that cut me was a traditional soldier style fighter. Armed with at least enchanted steel bastard sword. But my bet is that it's divinium. Well financed...that's for sure."

The elder's son stepped up. "How do you know what kind of blade cut you? I know Mira complained about using dozens of needles to stitch you up...but surely you're not-"

"Asentari skin is tougher than normal. A standard steel blade, even if well maintained, will have issues going through light leather armor. That's basically what our skin is. Enchanted steel and divinium produces much better blades, even if poorly maintained, will cut our skin relatively easily without the need of tremendous strength. If you want to fight an asentari, bring a mace, a Morningstar, or even a metal staff would be better than a standard edged weapon if you don't got those two metals...blunt force effects us just as much as another person or being."

It was then that Alice came back with the food. An extra well done steak, with a baked potato, rice, and mixed vegies. All looking extremely good. And a large pitcher of water. Except the steak was still too rare. "Next time...a little more cooked on the steak...but otherwise looks good."

He started to dig in a little bit. "So, what's the current situation? Only fifteen plus you two and me isn't much, and I'm injured. Just for coverage, I had hoped for another ten to fifteen people."

Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble Empty Re: Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble

Post by Zenke on Thu Jul 25, 2019 8:25 am

He claimed he was tired and half dead as an excuse for being wrong, but Lilian didn't see why he was so worried about it. No one expected him to know exactly how many soldiers there were stationed around. He turned to the girl and asked her to get him a few things, then back to them. His reaction to their second name caused her to tense. It was clear he knew who her mother was, but she already knew who had killed her, and wasn't about to become hostile over it. Still it was better he chose not to ask more questions.

Lilian listened to his description of the camp's layout, and as he spoke tried to come up with a plan of dealing with it. They needed to take the fight to the slavers, staying in the town put everyone here at risk. It was likely that the unit sent would stick as close to Lilian's as possible, while avoiding getting invovled. Mondolin didn't like to be seen getting involved in the freelands business. It could easily look like an attack. When he was done speaking she nodded. "By the sounds of it, they're Red Fang, bandits and thugs who do the Nyberrite Alliance's dirty work. It's pretty obvious Karcenak is part of the Alliance, and they like a fresh supply of slaves. They're probably the direct backers of this little operation. Karcenak has the resources to aquire Divinium. There is also the possibility the Heanta are behind it, but we've never had reports of Heanta using others to take slaves. They prefer the hunt." She looked at her father to see if he had anything to add.

He then asked about the current situation. Lilian shrugged. "There hasn't been much change. We've scouts watching the border for an assualt, but I want to hit them before they attack the village. It puts more people at risk the necessary. Our priority should be saving the slaves, but based on the layout of the base, they'll have the high ground overlooking them. So we can't just sneak in and steal them back." She said. "We need to draw them out of the main camp so soldiers can get to the slaves without being pelted with arrows. I think the three of us could cause a big enough ruckus for that." Again she looked at her father and gave him a chance to speak. And then Kronos. "How long do think you'll need to heal up enough to fight effectively?"

Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble Empty Re: Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble

Post by Orgoth on Wed Jul 31, 2019 6:05 am

Andreas studied the young man for a moment as he offered his reasoning for being wrong about the guard complement of the town, before smiling disarmingly again. "It's alright, kiddo. No one expected you to know." He wasn't sure what to make of the Asentari. His attempt to guess the exact defenses of the town, and subsequent offering of excuses when he was not correct, seemed to indicate someone who is more comfortable when they are in control. Andreas' decision to not simply walk in and start barking orders now had a double function. To not overshadow his daughter, and to let Kronos have a little more input. This would hopefully help to get the best out of Kronos, which would in turn help with the mission.

Kronos outlined the camp's layout, commenting that they seemed to be exceedingly well-funded, possessing a large camp and divinium weaponry. A young boy piped up about how Kronos knew what weapon wounded him, and the Asentari explained about the fabled Asentari Dragon Skin. At that point, the rescued slave girl returned with Kronos' order. He griped a little that the steak wasn't quite cooked enough. Considering the thing barely resembled meat anymore, Andreas couldn't help but chuckle in amusement. "Maybe you should have just ordered the coal from the stove. I hear they're as well-done as you can get." Andreas suddenly realized something and turned to Alice. His fatherly instincts kicked in, and he was concerned about the well-being of the rescued girl. "Excuse me kiddo, but have you had a proper rest yet? You've only been rescued recently and you're here running errands again already. Can you do me a favor, and sit down for a moment? You were supposed to have been saved from servitude."

Lilian continued, mentioning the possibility of the Red Fang being behind the whole thing and discounting the Heanta. Andreas stroked his chin and nodded. "Agreed. It definitely fits their profile well. The Alliance uses them for their own ends, but the Fang still run their own show on the side. In fact, it is because of Alliance funding that they have lasted as long as they have." Kronos then asked about the current situation, and Lilian explained, offering her plan to go on the offensive by luring the garrison out of the camp. Andreas nodded in agreement. "I have to agree again. Holding up here won't fix the problem. I think I can wing something that will do the trick."

Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble Empty Re: Creating Trouble to Solve Trouble

Kronos listened to both people. Though his eyes did narrow at the man. "Asentari do tend to prefer their meat well done, fire Asentari like myself even more so. I don't make fun of other's food preferences, you should do the same. Unless they're Heanta...then by all means." Humans...they can be so judgmental…but then so was he. The guy talked to Alice and let her go. While she did pout, she obeyed the guy. Once she was away, heading towards her parents, Kronos spoke up in a hushed voice. "Thank you...she's having a bit of hero worship that I frankly don't like. I'm...not good with kids let alone that kind of thing without being harsh."

He agreed with them on who it likely was. Working for the Dying Suns meant working for them sometimes. Both the Red Fang and the Alliance. Not the best of assignments.

But the plan itself made him smirk. "There's two safe ways to get up to the top from the main camp unless they can jump really high or are fast climbers. We take out the top camp stealthily at first, then topple the watchtower onto the main camp, that should be a good start for some chaos. The rest I'll be putting my blind faith into you two and the Sergant. It'll take a little extra time to get into position to assault that top camp, but getting the high ground and toppling that tower should focus all of their attention to us while giving us three the upper hand.

As far as how long I need...Doc?"

"One week minimum. I can't have you fighting like you are now..."

"Wrong answer still. We wait too long, they'll either attack this place, or relocate. Look, dude, one of their own best fighters is just as injured as I am. In addition, I was a part of the Dying Suns mercenary group, we worked for the Alliance before, and were even subcontracted a time or two by the Red Fang. I've seen what these slaver scum can and will do their slaves and "property," even before they sell them. Servitude was lucky for a girl like Alice, and probably her brother as well. Try again." After that last sentence came a very inhuman growl.

The doctor looked down, but relented, still shaking his head. "Rest for today, and if you have to go tomorrow, do it, but avoid bumps in the road, hard routes, hard fighting and exercise, baby that side as much as possible. I wish I knew more about your kind and how quickly Asentari heals, but that's still way too soon."

"There you have it, Knight Toral. After today, it's your call on when we set out. Get me when you're ready to head out, but don't wait too long on my account. We definitely have less than a week. And don't worry doc, I fully intend on going easy on that side until the real fighting starts. I don't have a death wish after all." After finishing up his food, he left, taking the plates and empty pitcher to the bar, where the bartender took care of it.

Then he went back to the room. He stripped off his shirt. Only thing he intended to do today was eat and sleep. Settling back down on the bed, he closed his eyes and dozed off. He was a little bit of a light sleeper though. So if anyone wanted to talk to him, they could.
