Eldari: Appearance and Nature

Post by Dark Hunter on Thu Apr 18, 2013 8:41 am

Hailing from Sindaron, The Green Island, the Eldari are far and away most graceful race in Asmir Ka'lesa. The Eldari usually have moderately tanned skin, though some have been known to have darker skin. They usually stand between 5 and a half feet to 6 and a half feet tall, with some a little shorter than that. All Eldari have the same piercing yellow eyes and pointed ears, and their hair varies from brown to blonde to red, with women wearing theirs long and wavy and men cutting theirs short and spiky. Their facial structure closely resembles humans, albeit with much more delicate features.

Eldari are the longest lived of the races, generally living for eight centuries, some even live up to a millennium. Their long lifespans mean that there are many Eldari that have experienced most of the history of Asmir Ka'lesa, including the many periods of war and peace. They share a symbiotic relationship with their Eldross kin, trading metals and jewelry in exchange for exotic foods and wood. They also enjoy a amiable relationship with the citizens of the Human town of Minarion which exists just within the Eldari borders, as well as the Unity Knights, the Human sect that advocates cooperation between the races, a belief that the Eldari and Eldross both share.

The Eldari enjoy a secluded existence on their home island, as The Green Island is very difficult for unauthorized parties to access. As well as the mythical Cerulean Rift providing a natural barrier, the Eldari have also introduced a magical supplement to aid the defense of the sea. Any vessel or presence that is not Eldari or Eldross in make is mercilessly attacked and brutalized by the sea. However, a race as old and wise as the Eldari are not naive enough to rely solely on geographical defenses for security. Based in the Damerlond, the massive building in the center of the Golden City, the Eternal Watch presides over the Eldari land, safeguarding its borders from would-be intruders.
